Arriva Slowly Phasing Old Buses Out

Posted by damianplant on October 3, 2009

Arriva are phasing out the old buses and bringing in a new fleet of bigger, more comfortable, buses.

Arriva 3864 new Volvo for Wycombe r31 Peter Cartwright

The access is much easier for Wheelchair users and mothers with prams.

The old buses were not comfortable as there was not enough space for the chair to manoeuvre and you felt like a sardine. These new ones are much more spacious and airy.

For those of you who have been put off travelling on the buses by these less accessible older buses, why not try one of the new ones, you might be surprised.

Ever Thought of Volunteering With the Police?

Posted by damianplant on October 1, 2009

The Police are often recruiting volunteer workers to work along side them in various capacities.

Take me, for example, I go along on Environmental Audits with different police wards to check on various issues that can arise. I really enjoy doing this and feel like I am giving something back to my community.

Why not find out what you have to offer?

You can ring PC Chloe Davies on 01745588449 or 07766367712 for more information.

Just tell them Damian sent you!

Professional Service from Delta

Posted by damianplant on September 29, 2009

I have just had my washing machine fixed by a company called Delta from Anglesey.

The man who came was very good, quick and efficient.

It is so nice when a company does the job so well and so quickly.

Thanks Delta. I would wholeheartedly recommend your services.

Moving On Disco at the Washington

Posted by damianplant on September 29, 2009

Last night I went along, with a good friend of mine, to the Moving On Disco in the Washington, Llandudno.

I must admit I was pleasantly surprised to find that I really enjoyed myself. My friend, Paul, brought three other people with him who go along regularly and they always have a good time.

So, if you fancy a night out with good company, don’t miss the next one!

The staff at the Washington are very helpful, and if you are in a wheelchair the Door Staff will open a side door for you.

Here are all the details you need.

And don’t forget to mention where you heard about it.

Caernarfon Council Listens!

Posted by damianplant on September 26, 2009

Some time ago, I had a problem getting in to a public toilet near the bus station in Caernarfon. There were two doors to negotiate, both needing the use of a Radar Key. You had to manoeuvre about holding both doors to try and get in!

Well, since then they have, sensibly in my opinion, removed the inner door. This makes it much easier.

The only problems now are the fact it was filthy on my last visit and the tap does not work! Come on Caernarfon Council, sort it out!

New Number to Contact the Police

Posted by damianplant on September 26, 2009

There is now a new number you can use to contact the Police when you need them, but when it is not an urgent emergency.

Instead of calling 999 you can dial 101.

This should take a lot of pressure off the system.
