Something I will be spending more time investigating in the near future is the provision of low floor bus transport in rural communities.
I met a lady on the bus this afternoon who comes from the village of Llanfair TH and she pointed out to me that there was no low floor bus service between her village and Abergele, her nearest town. This is very difficult as she has a small child in a pram and is asked to fold the pram when she uses the bus. She also stated that although the service she uses, number 48, is not suitable another service by the same company, number 42, is low floor and only serves Abergele town centre. surely this bus would be better utilised on the Llanfair TH run where it would enable more elderly and disabled people in that village to access public transport?
More on this topic soon.
