Craig-y-Don Community Centre has successfully been running a busy Community Centre since 2004. With a small team of paid staff the Centre, situated on Queens Road, has since its creation, been managed and staffed by local people, for local people and is a registered charity. It is a Community Centre in the true sense of the word. People of all ages, abilities and from all walks of life play an active role within the Centre. Their involvement promotes personal development, self-esteem and self-confidence.
Craig y Don Community Centre is proud of the fact that, whenever possible, it responds to the needs of the community and works in partnership with various outside agencies to meet these needs. The Centre’s “What’s On” is evidence of this and clearly demonstrates the diversity of activities available
Access to learning, in a relaxed, non-threatening environment, is available to the local community with the provision of numerous Adult Education courses. We work in partnership with Coleg Harlech to deliver this provision.
Craig-y-Don Community Centre is self-funding. The Management Committee is responsible for the upkeep of the building and finding resources to pay members of staff e.g. The Centre Manager and 2 Caretakers (the only three full-time staff). Everybody else involved in the running of the Centre are volunteers.
