Arriva Price Hike Again!

Just a few months after they increased the cost of Weekly tickets, Arriva have raised prices across the board!

The changes in fares will be introduced from 1st April.

Adult single fares will be increased by 10p to 30p in general with child fares becoming 2/3 of the adult fare throughout Wales.

Child day and weekly tickets will be priced at 2/3 of the adult equivalent.

Residents in the village of Talybont, Bangor have complained to Arriva for withdrawing their route 66 bus service connecting their village with the rest of the Bus network

Arriva states on their site:

“We understand that this will have a regrettable impact upon our customers, however at this time we have little option but to react to the substantial reduction in government financial support of bus services across Wales and the rising cost of fuel.”

With the possible strikes by Tanker drivers and the general economic climate, I think this is a bit of unfortunate timing.

Update to Traffic Problems

The other day i wrote on here “Buses are being stopped from the top at Gloddaeth Street, Llandudno between 13th and 28th February.
Please be aware that they will be going from Stop A and from the stop at Marks and Spencers during this work.

Well, it seems like that was a bit optimistic!

Up until today, they are still working on that piece of road and the buses are still leaving from M&S.

I will ring the council on Monday if there is no movement and let you know the result on here.
