Works are currently underway near traffic lights on the corner of Conway Road and Charlotte Road and are responsible for the closure of that particular exit from Champenys Retail Park.
Motorists are therefore left with one way out and forced to exit on to Mostyn Broadway, resulting in major delays.
Motorists reported delays of longer than an hour and a half to get out of the retail park.
A Conwy County Borough Council spokesperson said: “A traffic engineer made a site visit on Wednesday and advised the contractors on ways to improve traffic management in the area whilst the work is taking place.”
The spokesperson said once works are being completed to improve traffic flow out of Charlotte Road by providing clearer visibility at the junction, replacing the traffic light with a give way and installing a zebra crossing at a better location to improve pedestrian movement.
Watch out for delays on the road next to the new lifeboat station in Llandudno.
This may be for a few weeks and could lead to hold ups at peak times.

Furious motorists found themselves stuck in queues up to 13 miles long on Sunday after roadworks began on the expressway near Colwyn Bay on Saturday.
Drivers were caught in huge tailbacks from Junction 16 Dwygyfylchi to Junction 23 Llanddulas.
The problems were caused by the work on a new crossover between Juntion 23 Llanddulas and Junction 22 Old Colwyn as well as on-going work at the Conwy Tunnel.
The outer lanes are due to be closed in both directions between Junction 22 and Junction 23 until April 5.
Welsh transport minister Ken Skates tweeted “Roadworks on the A55 are banned from Easter until Autumn unless there’s an emergency repair needed”
The work is scheduled to last until April 5.
This week, until the 25th, there will be road works and a diversion on the LLandudno Road at the bottom of Penrhyn Hill.

Just to pre warn you, there are traffic lights and possible hold ups on Abergele Road in Colwyn Bay. They are by Ysgol Bod Alaw on the hill up to Eirias Park. This is due to a gas leak.
Leave a bit of time in your journey for this is my advice.
Just to let you know that the roadworks on Whitehall Road near the Caley bank in Rhos-on-Sea are still on going.
also look out for delays on Abergele Road near tho junction with Greenfield Road, They’re at it there too!
So be careful if you’re traveling down that way.
Just to let you all know, there are temporary traffic lights near the junction of Llandudno Road and Church Road in Rhos-on-Sea.
I would take the prom at peak times if you can.
