Report on Chester Park and Ride

I went into Chester today to go on a Park and Ride, to check on access for disabled passengers. I found it to be fantastic and i would recommend it to everyone that is disabled. I was blown away by how little it cost, you only have to pay for the all day ticket which on a bank holiday was £2 per person, which included being able to hop on and off. I didn’t do this but you can.

It is a lot easier to get around Chester, without having to search for an accessible parking space. The buses are great and very accessible, but my only gripe with it would be the accessible stop button isn’t accessible enough. You can see it over my left shoulder in the picture below.

Surfside Arcade in Pensarn

I visited a lovely little family run arcade in Pensarn yesterday, where the owner is keeping the tradition of amusements alive. The arcades we remember as kids, and loved.

What was lovely was it was accessible for wheelchairs and they were very welcoming.

It’s obviously a labour of love, as it’s open from 10:00 – 22:00, with the owner going in in the evening after working at a separate business.

Well done to Jeanette Marshall, for keeping this little bit of seaside heritage alive.

Local Coach Company Keeps Rural Route Alive.

Llew Jones Coaches of LLanrwst have taken over the Number 19 and X19 bus routes from Arriva. A move which will maintain an important connection for many people living in rural areas of the Conwy valley.

I travelled on the 19 today and you really get a sense of how difficult it would be for many disabled and elderly people to get to places, like Llandudno and local hospitals, without a reliable bus service.

Apart from that, it is a wonderful route and highly enjoyable journey through some of the more beautiful parts of the North Wales. Traveling down the picturesque Conwy valley, through stunning Betwys-y-Coed and up to Cwm Penmachno.

Well done LLew Jones on keeping such an important link running.

A Good Accessible Taxi Service in Penrhyn Bay.

Another good taxi service I have found to be reliable is Ray’s of Penrhyn bay.

A comfortable accessible taxi and friendly drivers, like Dave, make all the difference.

As well as cars, they have minibuses and accessible vehicles available.

I highly recommend them.
